Horizon joins Hunkeler Innovationdays 2023 to showcase print finishing solutions that allow users to flourish in ever-changing markets of worker shortages, rising costs, and increasingly demanding jobs. All solutions will be connected to iCE LiNK, our cloud-based machine & workflow management system. With iCE LiNK, HID2023 visitors will be able to see real-time job progress and status reports of the various solutions we are showingーKPI analysis data that can be utilized to improve operational productivity will also be available. 


Solution Highlights


Smart Binding Solution - Case Bind Prep

Dynamic Hardcover Book Block & Softcover Book Production

This roll-to-book solution features our new ESF-1000 endsheet feeder, GF-500 gauze feeder, and HT-300 three way trimmer to allow for both hardcover book block and softcover book production. At HID2023 see live demonstrations that show the solution’s ability to perform automatic job changeovers between these two product types. Dust jackets for gauze-bound book blocks will be created with our SmartSlitter sheet processing unit.


Roll-to-Saddlestitching Solution

iCE STITCHLINER MARK V

The iCE STITCHLINER MARK V is our roll-to-booklet saddlestitcher that utilizes the continuous feeding of Hunkeler’s unwinder and cutter to accomplish a production speed of 6,000 booklets an hour. At HID2023 we will demonstrate the system’s ability to perform instantaneous job changeovers of differing booklet thicknesses with no makereadies. The solution will also feature an automatic cover-sheet feeder and press/stacking unit to reduce operator touchpoints.


Smart Binding Solution - Cut & Stack Workflow

Cut & Stack Book Block to Book Production

This roll-to-book solution features our perfect binder equipped with the new LBF-500 loose sheet book block feeder to achieve inline integration with Hunkeler cut & stack technology. Automated job changeovers and flexible book production with loose sheet book blocks will help users excel at short to medium run jobs.


Roll-to-Fold Direct Mail Solution


Produce direct-mail applications from digitally printed rolls with this highly automated solution that features our buckle folder integrated with Hunkeler web processing technology. Increase added value of mailing applications by perforating coupon or mail-back sections in the applications. Users can also streamline their production workflow by automatically stacking finished applications for easy packaging.
